What is an Expert Profile?

An Expert Profile is each Expert's “home page” on the Rogomo website. Expert Profiles provide potential Buyers with information about Experts, including:

  • the types of expertise or other help that the Expert sells
  • the range of fees that the Expert charges
  • the Expert's hours of availability

Every Expert has a Expert Profile, but not every Expert Profile is the same. Experts are free to customize their Expert Profile with their own information, as well as communication, video or photo widgets to allow potential Buyers to get to contact them before starting a transaction.

What should I include in my Expert Profile?

Your Expert Profile is the best way for you to communicate with potential Buyers and to showcase your unique skills and expertise. While you are free to include as much (or as little) information in your Expert Profile as you wish, the more information you provide, the better.

When writing your Expert Profile, always keep in mind that for many Buyers, this is the only thing they know about you, so be sure to present yourself in a professional manner and always make clear to potential buyers why they should trust you and buy from you.

Below are some suggestions for some of the topics that you may wish to include when you write your Expert Profile. Remember, what you put in your Expert Profile is completely optional.

  • Your Expertise

One of the most important things you can do in your Expert Profile is describe the exact type of expertise or personalized help that you are selling. You should be as specific as possible. This will help to distinguish you from other Rogomo Experts, and will also make it more likely that somebody looking for your specific expertise will find you quickly and easily.

  • Your Experience:

Another good idea is to use your Expert Profile to describe your relevant experience and explain how your experience can help a potential Buyer. If applicable, you should list any degrees, credentials or certifications that you may have (and be sure to list them in a way that anyone can understand – some people may not recognize abbreviations!).

  • Examples of Your Expertise

If you decide to list your experience, it's also a good idea to provide Buyers with a sample of your experience that they can review. For example, you should provide a link to websites, blogs, LinkedIn profiles, etc., that can help establish your credibility as a Rogomo Expert. If possible, we also encourage you to use the “My Widgets” function on your Expert Profile to embed examples of your work. These widgets can be audio files, YouTube video clips, pictures from PhotoBucket, or anything else that you are able to embed in My Widgets.

  • Your Availability

One of the most important things you can list in your Expert Profile is your availability. The last thing you want is to have a potential Buyer be disappointed if they unknowingly try to reach you at a time that you aren't available. When listing your availability, remember to list your time-zone (U.S. Eastern, GMT, Japan Standard Time, etc.), as Rogomo Buyers may be located in a different time-zone.

  • Your Fee

Some Buyers will shop for Rogomo Experts based on fee. These Buyers may only choose to contact experts that list the fee they charge per minute. The fee you list can be a range (e.g., between $0.20/minute and $2/minute, depending on time of day), a fixed fee (e.g., $0.40/minute) a minimum (e.g., starting from $0.10/minute) or other description of fee that you feel would be helpful to a potential Buyer.
