There are two free and easy ways to promote your expertise to buyers.
First, you can set up a free Expert Profile in Rogomo's expert directory, which you can personalize to include information about your expertise, your hours of availability, your contact information, and any other information that you choose to include. Potential buyers who come to the Rogomo website can then easily find and review your Profile in Rogomo's directory.
Second, you can use Rogomo's free Expert Widgets (see below) to promote yourself across the Internet. As described below, you can post Expert Widgets in your email signature, your message board postings, your blog, you MySpace page, or anywhere else to encourage people to purchase your expertise on Rogomo.
Expert Widgets are tools that you can use to promote yourself to other people. Specifically, Expert Widgets are small images that tell people that you're a Rogomo Expert, display your minutes-sold and ratings, and link to your Expert Profile.
Here's what they look like:
These images can be displayed on your pages on the Internet (Facebook, MySpace, Blogger, etc.), your emails, your message board postings, and just about anywhere else. If someone clicks on your Expert Widget, they will be taken directly to your Expert Profile where they can start a session with you!
Your Expert Widgets will work on any Internet site that uses HTML, most email services, and many message boards. For example, you can post Expert Widgets on:
.. and many more places!
Here's an example of what your Expert Widget will look like on MySpace:
A good way to promote yourself is to provide answers in your field of expertise on Question and Answer sites across the Internet, and to include your Expert Widget in your answer. The more people that see your answer (and the more quality answers that you provide), the more that potential buyers will trust you and want to purchase your advice on Rogomo.
Some of the more popular question and answer sites are:
Amazon Askville
Answers.com
Microsoft Live QnA Beta
Yahoo! Answers
Yedda.com
Go to the Expert Widgets section of your My Account page. If your site is listed in the Quick Post tool, then click on the name of your site and follow the instructions. This Quick Post tool is provided by Gigya, a company that specializes in easily and securely posting widgets into many sites.
Here's what the Gigya Quick Post tool looks like. All you have to do is click the button for where you want to add your Expert Widget!
Additionally, instead of using the Quick Post tool, you can also take these steps:
Click the Copy button to copy your Expert Widget code. Go to your social networking site and edit your profile. In one of your profile boxes, instead of writing about your favorite movies, music bands or whatever, just paste in the code. When you save your profile, the site should automatically display your widget.
If you write your own blog, copy your Expert Widget code and then follow the instructions provided by your blog site for displaying HTML code.
Copy your Expert Widget code and then just paste it into the Description field.
With certain email services, you can create an email signature that displays your Expert Widget.
Go to the Expert Widgets section of your My Account page and follow these steps:
Open Outlook. Open Tools menu and select Options. Select Mail Format tab. Click Signatures. If you already have a signature, click Edit. If not, click New. Click Advanced Edit, and then Yes in the pop-up window. Copy your Expert Widget code and paste it at the bottom. Click Save, and then Ok to close the Edit and Options windows.
Sign in to Yahoo! Mail. Click Options. In the Personalization section, click Signature. Next to Editor, click Color and Graphics. Check the box for “Add signature to all outgoing messages.” Click View HTML Source. Copy your Expert Widget code and paste it at the bottom. Click Save.
Sign in to Hotmail. Select Mail tab. Click Options. Go to Personal Signature Uncheck the Rich Text Editor box (click Ok in the warning) Copy your Expert Widget code and paste it into the window. Check the Rich Text Editor box. When the image is displayed, click Ok.
Unfortunately, AOL and Gmail do not currently support HTML signatures. As soon as they do, we'll provide instructions.
Many message boards allow users to display images in their comments or posts. Go to the Expert Widgets section of your My Account page and follow these steps:
Click the Copy button to copy your Rogomo widget code, and then paste it at the end of your message board comments.
If your Expert Widget does not display in your comment, contact the site and ask them to allow users to display “BBCode or forum code.” In the mean time, simply add, “Check out my Rogomo Expert Profile” along with your profile URL link.
In addition to Expert Widgets, another important way to promote yourself is through your Expert Rating. Buyers can give you a Expert Rating at the end of every transaction. Your Expert Rating is a composite of all of the ratings you received from individual Buyers.
Future Buyers will likely take your Expert Rating into account when deciding whether or not to buy expertise or help from you, so it's important to keep your Expert Rating as high as possible. The best way to do this is to be sure to treat all of your Buyers with courtesy and professionalism, and to provide high quality expertise and help.
